PAEROA MAN’S DEATH.
* FALLS FROM BRIDGE. COMPANION ALSO HURT. A fatal accident occurred at Morrinsville on Saturday at about 10 a.m.j Patrick Clark, aged 50 years, employed as a farm. hand by Mr J. Russell, pf Kereone, losing his life. The deceased and John Jons, a Dane, of Te Aroha, were passing over the railway bridge at Studhplme Street, when the former lost his balance. Jons, realising his companion’s danger, spught to save him, but both fell over the side of the bridge to the ground below, a distance pf 19ft. Clark was rendered unconscious, having his skull fractured, and he also suffered a broken thigh. He died at 6 a.m. the following morning. Jons, who is 35 years old, received severe injuries, which included a broken jaw and wrist, and liis thigh and back were also injured'. Both men were attended by Dr. Bernstein, and Jons was conveyed to the Waikato Hospital for treatment. Deceased had previously been working at Tirohia, about four miles from Paeroa. He hailed from Coruna, Viririnda, N.S.W., and was a rturned soldier with a good x ecord and medals won on the field.
