The respective merits and demerits of benzine and steam propelled road rollers are matters of interest to local bodies having in view the purchase of reading machinery. It is stated that the Piako County Council’s benzine roller is not a satisfactory proposition, inasmuch as it sometimes takes hours to get started of a morping. Also, it is argued that a small roller would be better for swampv country than a large one.
