MARKET- REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auc.tioneerifig Co., Ltd., reports:— Beef. —Considerable improvemen: lias been observed during the past week, but there seems little reason for anticipating-any marked advance as large importations are drifting through from other districts. Mutton. —Very little is at present coming forward, bu-t despite this the markpt is still dull, although values locally seem well ahead of Westfield quotations. Store Cattle—There are indications of a general forward movement, not very s marked so far, certainly, but nevertheless clearly apparent.. Forward bullocks are .the subject of enquiry. Fresh-conditioned 'cows are meeting with improved competition everywhere. Empty dairy heifers have again returned to favour.. Yearling steers are still rather unpopular, although at present values no class seems likely to prove more profitable. _ Store Sheep.—The inquiry for store sheep is weak. Ewes with lambs at foo.t, as was anticipated, are drawing inquiry, and buyers are willing to inspect any good lines offering. Preference lies, of course, with the Black face and Leicester iambs. Dairy Cattle. —There is still a strong inquiry for all good dairyinganimals. It must be admitted, however, that great numbers of inferior and low-conditioned sorts are being offered, and these for the most : par; are not required. Pigs are still in strong supply and also in strong demand.
