BETTER STOCK.
PROGRESS AT NGATEA.
The fact that the Ngatea settlers intend to improve their stock is evident by the number of better bred cattle which are continually coming into the= district The -la,test addition has been made by Mr, G. T. Davidson, who just recently bought Beachland’s Prince, a Jersey bull of the true dairy type. -This bull has won seven championships.
Beachland’s Prince, by Brighton’s Twilish—Golden Swan’s Girl, was bred by Mr A. Moreland and is backed by 750 butter-fat on the dam’s side and by 600 butte r-fat on the sire’s side. Though Ngatea farmers have always had good results from their stock; a few more additions such, as these will put them on a level with any district in the Dominion. A GOOD SEASON. ' It has been said that Messrs Dawson Bros.s of Hopai, have had a particularly good seasop, showing a good return of butter-fat. An area ofi about 128 acres, has yielded about 20,0001 b of butter-fat during the last season.
