NGATEA DAIRYING.
INCREASED MILK SUPPLY. EFFECTS OF RECENT RAINS. That the dairying industry on the Plains in general and round Ngatea ip particular, is at present rapidly increasing, is emphasised, by the fact that the Ngatea factory is now continually sending away large shipments of butter. On Tuesday last the s.s. Oneroa took away 305 boxes of butter, which Lumber is estimated io be more than the Paeroa factory shipped on Wednesday. On Friday about 400 boxes were loaded on to the s.s. Gael for shipment to Auckland. The recent rains have helped materially to increase the milk supply to the factory, and proof ot this fact is that since the beginning of last week the factory employees have been required to work overtime to cope with the larger supply which has been secured owing to the increased milk yield. The installation of electric light has been proved to be a wise move on the part of the management, considerably facilitating the overtime work. WAITAKARURU CREAM. It is .the wish of the management of the Ngatea factory to have the cream from Waitakaruru and Hopai carted to the factory instead of conveying it thence by launch, the latter course being at present in operation. It is understood that tenders for carting the cream from these places are shortly to be called. The cream from Kaihere is at present being conveyed by cart.
