ANOTHER POLL.
PLAINS LOAN PROPOSALS. COUNCILLORS CONFIDENT. At the September meeting of .the Hauraki Plains Cpunty Council at Ngatea on Monday the recommendation of the finance committee that the machinery loan be< again.put before the ratepayers at the earliest possible date was, on the motion of Crs. Parfitt and Mayn, carried unanimously. The chairman and clerk were deputed to make arrangements for .the new poll. Cr. McLoughlin said that when the loan proposals were nut recently the roads were in a bad condition and the ratepayers could not be induced to come out to vote. Cr. Mayn thought that the loan was turned down bn accoun.t of misapprehension on the part of the ratepayers. He suggested canvassing by the' councillors. The striking off the roll of a number of the ratepayers was afactor against the poll. When th©
position was put before the settlers again they would, he 'thought, be in favour of the loan.
