LOAN RAISED.
THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD.
£350,000 UNDERWRITTEN.
OPTION REPAYMENT 1936.
Yesterday the Thames Valley Power Board received official intimation through their bankers —.the Bank of New Zealand —to the effect that the Board’s loan of £3'50,000, authorised by the ratepayers at the poll in May last, has now been underwritten on the London market.!
The prospectus states that the Board have the option of repayment on and after September Ist, 1936. The above intimation must be extremely gratifying to the Board, ’its executive, and the ratepayers in the whole of the district. Negotiations have been in progress continuously for weeks past, and the position had to be very closely watched. The result speaks well for the methods adopted, for. we believe that no other Board has obtained such favourable terras. The loan is floated at 96, with interest at 6 per cent. We congratulate the Board on the success of its negotiations, and feel! sure that this is the opinion of the whole of the ratepayers.
