Mr and Mrs H. D. Mclver and family left Paeroa on Monday afternoon for Foxton, where Mr Mclver takes over the Manawatu Hotel.

Paeroa will shortly lose another active member of the community, .in the person of Mr F. C. Thomas, chemist, who is disposing of his business to Mr Stanley Hedge, of Te Aroha. Mr Thomas, who has been in business in Paeroa for some ten years, and is a member of the Paeroa 'Beautifying Society and other organisations, intends to start for England in a few months’ time,, and is arranging .his trip so as not to land during the English winter. His is an active per-, sonality which wiN be missed in the town. Mr Hedge is a returned soldier, and was until recently in business in Te Aroha,
