The candidature of Mr C. W. Parfitt, of Pipiroa, Hauraki Plains, for a seat on the directorate of the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. (Thames Ward), is announced elsewhere in the “Gazette” to-day. Mr Parfitt, who is a' member of the Hauraki Plains County Council, has been for some five years on the directorate of the late Thames Valley Co-operative Dairying Co., Ltd., and is now on that of the major company which incorporated the local one. The candidate has had considerable experience in dairying epneerns, for besides being a practical dairy farmer of long standing, he was for seven years a member of the board of directors 01. the Aratata Cheese Co., Ltd. (Taranaki), during six of which he was chairman. Mr Parfitt, therefore, is fully qualified to weigh the- merits of cheese propositions as well as of butter enterprises and policies. He is recognised as a man who has a capacity for analysing the pros and cons of a question very thoroughly, and for coming to cool and shrewd conclusions. He is hardly the man to allow himself to be stamped into a course of action against his better judgment. It is fortunate that the suppliers have men of such practical knowledge, foresight, and prudence to choose from.
