THE RIVERS COMMISSION

BESUMJNH TO-DAY. Since Tuesday mid-day the Waihoa and Ohinemuri Rivers Commission party have been making a thorpug i inspection of the district. The sittings will commence at 2 p.m. to-day, in the Courthouse, Paeroa. The Commissioners are : Messrs H. J. H. Blow (chairman), W. S. Shortt, and G. Buchanan. The following is the order of reference : As to whether the allocation under clause d, sub-section 14, of section 4 of "The W.aihou and Ohinemuri Rivers Improvement Act, 1910," of .the cost of providing, from-the Ist day of April, 1921,. the interest and sinking funds on any loans raised for the purpose of carrying put the works authorised by. the Waihou and Ohinemuri Rivers Improvement Act, 1910, together wip the cost of administration and maintenance, is, under existing conditions, fair .and equitable, and if not, what variation should be made in such allocation.

As to whether, in the event of ‘the existing allocation under clause d, sub-section 7- of section 17 of the said Act, being varied, what consequential variations should be made in the allocation provided in sectio.n 25 of the said Act.

As .to whether, in the event of th 6 existing allocation being varied, ih<? representation provided in section 20 of the aforesaid Act should also oe varied, and, if so, to what extent. “Generally your opinion of all matters which may be brought before you in connexion with the question referred to, and which, in your opinion, have any bearing on these premises."
