Last Saturday 12 ladies competed in the flag match., which was won t.y Mrs Miller, who carried her flag to the seventeenth green. Next Saturday the ladies will play the usual monthly medal match. The men will play a best ball four ball match for .the trophies donated by Mr Dales and Mr Ste.e-lman, Players are to choose their own partners, and the draw for opponents will take place at the clubhouse at 1-45 pan. .

day night, there being present: Mr J. L. Hanna (president),, Mrs Salt, Misses Shaw and Dunn, Messrs W. Marshall, W, Bain, S. Holes, W. Kenny, W. J. Silcock, E. E. Gilliman, R. W. Evans, R. Whitten, A. White, W. D. Nicholas, .and ’the secretary, Rev. W. J. Enticott.

The president said the meeting was called to consider an option to purchase the Karangahake band rotunda for £5O. The cost of transporting the rotunda to Paeipa and making a concrete foundation would be approximately £5O. The present base was of kauri, but the floor was shewing signs of wear. A concerte wall base filled with sand would suffice.

If the rotunda was purchased there would be no funds left to handle the railway section, but he bad given many subscribers a promise that this section would be attended to at an early date.

The Minister for Railways had first refused to give a lease, but had now agreed to do so, subject io termination at reasonable notice. The Department would not contribute in any way, nor would it recognise any compensation in the event oi the land ultimately being wanted for railway purposes. The Borough Council had undertaken to pipe the drains, but it could not gejt the pipes for some time. The committee recommended the purchase of the rotunda and its erection immediately in front of the previous site of the firebell' tower, concluded Mr Hanna.

A letter was received from the Salvation Army offering £5 per annum for the use of the rotunda, if erected as suggested. Mr R. W. Evans moved that the offer of the rotunda be accepted, Mr Silcock seconding. Mr Whitten asked if tenders for the removal and re-elrection were to be called.

The president said Mr Roberts had offered to do the work for about £lOO, or less if he found .that he could do so Mr Whitten thought the work might be done for less. Mr Marshall thought a determined effort should be made to complete the railway section. The above was added io the motion, also that the site be next to the old site of the firebell, and the motion as thus enlarged was ca~ried. LIBRARY SITE. The president said the Society was going to beautify the front of the Ohinemuri Library, and probably a start would be made next Thursday, partly with Jthe assistance of schoolboys, under direction of Mr S. .1. Bishop. JUNIOR MEMBERS. The president proposed that juniors not over 15 years, and on payment of 5s per annum, be allowed,to become members of the Society,

Mr Evans thought the fee should be merely nominal,, say, one shilling. The main value would be in the interest, the work, and the protection of plots the juniors ,would afford m the affairs of the Society. Mr Whitten thought. .an intermediate sum should be charged for lads between 16 and 20. Mr Evans considered that a subbranch might be formed, which could fix its own subscription fee. After much discussion Mr W. J. Silcock moved that the affiliation of a junior branch be accepted, membership being up to 18 years of age, with representation on the committee., in the proportion of one junior to .every two adults. Mr R. Whitten moved that junior members up to 16, without a vote, subscribing one shilling, those flrom 16 to 20, ss, be admitted, members t? have on ehe committee. Mr Marshall! seconded, he preferring the form of a junior sub-com-mittee as against a branch. Mr A. White favoured an affiliated branch, giving the juniors some authority. He thought 5.S would enough for boys of 18. The interest they would take would be more importart than the subscription. At this stage the secretary produced a letter from the Registrar which proved that a sub-branch as suggested could not be legally formed. The above quashed the motion, and the amendment became the motim and was carried.
