ROTONGARO. Own Correspondent. A meeting of the Huntly West branch of the Farmers Union was held in the Pukenui School on Saturday evening last. Mr R. McEwan presided over a small attendance. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. It was decided to accept the State Mill’s tender for the for the Hall. The Secretary (Mr T. Sefton) was asked to write to the Railway Department, pointing out to them the difficulty of crossing the rails at the approaches to the bridge and requesting them to keep the ballast well up to the rails. At the union's request-the Education Board has decided to reopen the Pukenui School, the settlers to guarantee an attendence of nine, or failing this pay the rent of the building. A letter was received from the Recruiting Committee, asking the Unions cooperation in gaining recruits. It was decided to write to the County Council, and work in with them on the matter.
