The Auckland Dairy Produce Committee has fixed the wholesale price of butter and eggs for the week ending February 5, as follows : Farmers's, separator and dairy butter, lOd per lb. eggs is 3d per doz. We have much pleasure in placing on record the success of Master C. R. Edwards, eldest son of Mr Geo. Edwards of the Waikato Dining Rooms, in the Matriculation Examination re centlylield in the various centres. Master Edwards has, for the last three years been a pupil of the Thames High School, and on each occasion of his sitting for examination, he has achieved marked success. His success included passes in the Medical Preliminary', and Solicitors Entrance Examinations. Although his success shows a close application to study, we find that Master Edwards has not lost sight of the good that can be derived from a judicious course of athletics, and at school he is captain of the hockey and cricket teams and vice-oaptain of the football team, while he has several medals won in various athletic contests. He has accepted a position in the Audit Office at Wellington, but we understand that he will continue his studies at the. night classes of the University there, and will no doubt achieve further success.
