Huntly Town Board.

MONTHLY MEETING. At the ordinary monthly meeting of the Huntly Town Board held last night, Messrs J. P Bailey (Chairman), R. Greemvelf and L. B. Harris, jr., were present’ ALLOCATION OF' WAR PENSIONS. The Board resolved to support the Petone Borough Council in its efforts to get the War Pensions Act amended so that the clause giving the Pensions Board power to reduce pensions to dependants of soldiers, where they or their relatives have any property or income might, be wiped out. POWER HOUSE. Mr E. J. Fenn forwarded a report as to the progress made by the contractor for the Power House. The report was received. AWAROA RAILWAY. The Board decided to enter a very strong protest against the decision of the Railway Department not to carry women or children on the Awaroa Railway for the. present. Members spoke in very strong terms reguarding the matter, and the Clerk was instructed to lose no time in pushing the protest home. TENDERS For CARTING. Two tenders for supply of carts and horses for the ensuing year were received, the lower, that of D. Suttie being accepted Accounts amounting to £16510s 4d on the General Account and £7O 8s 7d on the Loan Account were passed for payment,
