The Auckland Dairy Produce Committee has fixed the wholeprice for butter and eggs for the week ending December 25 as follows : Farmers’, separator and dairy butter, lOd. Eggs, lid per dozen.
An attempt to burgle the Huntly Hotel on Sunday evening last. How the burglars gained entrance is a mystery, and the only thing they got away v ith was a desk in which are kept a Jew papers and occasionally some coppers.
At the police Court on Friday, 17th December, before Messrs E. J. Farrell and W. R. Leather, J. V. Johnson, was charged with assaulting Albert Berry in Hakauoa Street on the 13th of December last. It appears that defendant had a civil action against plaintiff some three years ago and lost the case. Defendant was fined £2, and bound over to keep the peace for six months in his own security of £SO.
