Lyceum Pictures.

MINERS’ HALL—TO-NIGHT.

That popular picture actor Maurice Costello will be featured this evening in a special Vitagraph drama entitled The Girl in the Case.” which is a splendid play of the financial world. A fine wholesome love episode,is contrasted with the tragedy of an exciting intregue, and the interpretation by Maurice Costello is an artistic triumph. The star is well supported by a varied programme; items of special mention being The Japanese Silk Industry, The Australian Gazette, which contains popular cartoons by Harry Julius, and two very good comedies entitled “ Cupid in Hospital” by the L-Ko Co., and “The Lucky Leap,” by the Keystone Company. Patrons are assured of a first-class entertainment comparable with the city. For this Saturday Mr Calder has much pleasure in announcing a big Pathe military subject entitled “ The Troops in Egypt.” This is an absolutely genuine film taken in Egypt, while our troops were in training there, and every phase of camp life, etc., etc., is shown, while close up pictures make many of our New Zealand boys easily recognised. It is possible patrons may recognise some of their own friends in this film. A big varied programme consisting of war gazettes, cartoons, dramas rib tickling comedies complete a popular series of photoplays. A special Keystone included in this programme entitled “ Hogan’s RoinancelUpset,” will create much amusement. Special phographic slides of all the juvenlo Carnival Queens of Huntly will be shown on the screen in addition to the programme. Patrons are cordially invited to attend. Book seats at McNee's as usual. Important particulars for Tuesday next at the theatre.
