TIE lINTEY HESS. PUBLISHED WEEKLY AT 1 P.M. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1915. Tunnelling Company’s Regimental Fund.
The letters appearing in our correspondence coluras re the Regimental Fund which is sought to be raised for the N.Z. Engineers Tunnelling Corps will be read with much interest by residents of Huntly, many members of the Company having enlisted from this Town.
It is most desirable that they should leave the country provided with a fund to be used for the provision of those small, but most necessary comforts which cost little, but which are not provided by the powers that be. The appeal has come at a most unfortunate time, owing to the Carnival which is being worked up, but, as the Company will be leaving for the front at the end of the month, the matter cannot be delayed, and if those desirous of helping, will practise still a little more self-denial, neither Fund will suffer.
