Huntly Mines Disaster Relief Fund.

On Saturday last, the Secretary of the Mines Disaster Relief Fund paid into the Public Trustee the sum of £5980 15s, being the amount remaining in his hands to the credit of the above Fund. In addition the Public Trustee had already', a sum of over £4OO in his hands, and there was a further amount of over £3OOO from Wellington and Christchurch so that the Public Trustee would have in his hands an amount approximating £9500 for the benefit of the widows and orphans. On Friday a representative of the Public Trustee waited on the Secretary, settling up matters in connection with the Fund. There is now only the Audit to be completed and then tho matter will be out of the hands of the local Committee.
