The Hat Trick.
A veteran actor who is rather given to harmless practical joking was strolling along with a friend when the two stopped in front of a window of a hatter. With a smile the joker excused himself for a moment and end tered the shop. A salesman hurried forward. “ Will you,” asked tho player, “ please tako the hat with a blue band out of the window ?” Scenting a sale, the salesman hurriedly complied. “ Many thanks,” said the actor, tsrning to leave the shop, hut don’t you wish to ex:: nine the hat? queried the the astonished salesman. Not at all, explained the actor. 1 merely read your polite sign ‘‘Any hat taken out of this winw* dyw by request.
