Hibernian Social.
The above social was held in the Miners’ Hall last Monday and was well patronised, upwards of forty couples being present. This was the third of a series of functions organised for the purpose of assisting the Convent School financially. The hall was tastefully decorated by the Hibernians, while the new stage scenery lately installed by the Hall committee added greatly to the beautiful appearance of the building. The floor was in its usual first-class order, while the music as contributed by Mr and Mrs W. Darby, left nothing to be desired. During the evening Mr J. Budge obliged those present with a fantastic step dance, which was thoroughly appreciated. The M.C’s. Messrs Budge, Farrel and Berry deserve credit for the way in which they carried out their onerous duties.
