Fund for our Sick and Wounded Soldiers.

The Ladies Relief Committee will make a house to house canvas commencing July stli. They are only asking 3d a week and to make it a permanent thing until tlie war is over. This will be called for monthly. An offer has been made by one who sympathises with tlie cause, and appreciates the efforts of the l ilies, to give a subsidy of 10s for every £1 collected by them during the month of July. The ladies are holding a social in the Miner’s Hall on Monday July 19th, tickets Is. Every ticket bought will carry tliis subsidy, so that everyone who buys a ticket is giving Is fid to the fund. A school girl’s social will be held the following week and a patriotic concert in the Kings Hall at the cud of tlie month. Date given later. Wilson, E voles, Shaw, Porter, Wear, Jolley, Maxwell, Curly on, riiomas, and T. Fraser, the last eight being the canvassing committee. Acting oil advice received by Mr J. P. Bailey from the Mayor of Auckland the ladies are working through tlie Town Board. No subsidy will be given on amounts collected by anyone outside of tlie committee.
