Benefit Social.
The benefit social, held in the Miners’ Hall last Wednesday evening in aid of the funds of
the Huntly Orchestra must be pronounced a distinct success.
The floor was in most excellent order, indeed it was almost too excellent for some of the dancers who found it somewhat difficult to keep the perpendicular.
The music, too, was all that could be desired, being rendered by the Orchestra and Mrs Brooks in a masterly style throughout.
Mr W. Thomas acted as M.C. and needless to say everything went off without a hitch. During the evening songs were rendered by Messrs Knapper and Stock and were well received. The number present was quite up to expectations, and a handsome addition to the funds of the Orchestra should result.
