Hospital Ship.
I The following wire was yester- ! day received by Mr J. P. Bailey from the Mayor of Auckland, who has been appointed by His Excellency the Governor to take charge of the collections in Auckland Province in aid of the Hospital Ship Fund. “In regard to equipment and material for hospital ship kindly advise me before noon on Monday next of all offers in your district of equipment comprised in His Excellency's list in to-days papers. Executive to-day decided that Auckland be responsible for one fourth of all equipment and material. When all offers as above are in hand as aforesaid each centre will be advised as to what is accepted.
In addition the executive decided to guarantee on behalf of Auckland District £6250 being one fourth amount indicated by Governor in addition to goods. Also to continue provincial appeal for cash to comprise fund to be administered by General Committee of which you are a member for similar object oi care and attention to wounded. Mr Bailey wishes it to be known that a Subscription List is open at the Town Board Office and that all who are willing to provide equipment will hand their offers in at the Office before II a.m. on Monday morning. When word is received back, people will immediately be apprised of what they are required to do. The Ladies Committee which did such good work on behalf of the Belgian Fund, has agreed to assist in this, and it is hoped that they will roceive the .wholehearted support of the townspeople.
