Metalling the Great South Road.

The work of metalling the gap between the end of the Town District and the Taupiri Gorge should soon be completed. The breaking of the metal in the Huntly Quarry i 3 just about finished and the carting out will commence almost immediately. The completion of this work will be a great boon to the motorists and drivers of vehicles, for with out a doubt the road is hard to beat for lumps and general unevenness. It is intended also, to patch up the holes in the Gorge Road, and to repair the fence, so that the hair raising experiences of the past should soon be only a a dream.
