Accident.
The danger of people driving into the station entrance at other than a walking pace was well exemplified on Tuesday last, when a Maori, driving a buggy and pair, turned sharply into the entrance just as children were passing from school. Two of the children were knocked down, the wheel of the vehicle passing over the legs of a little girl. It is a wonder that no bones were broken, and as it was, the child was badly bruised and received a severe shock.
The practise of driving and riding through the gate at a good speed is very prevalent, and horsemen would do wall to remember that in doing this, they are breaking the law.
