The Kennedys.
A MUSICAL TREAT. The above talented family gave their farewell performance at the Miners’ Hall on Tuesday last. The audience were evidently delighted with the programme provided judging by the enthusiastic encores to nearly every item. The performance was a varied and attractive one consisting of solos and concerted items both vocal and instrumental. The three brothers with their mother at the piano have the perfect understanding that comes of long practice and thorough sympathy. Lauri Kennedy played with remarkable skill on both the 'cello and the cornet while Keith Kennedy played the violin in a masterful manner ani Lance Kennedy the viola. The versatility of the brothers was an outstanding feature, mandolins, cornet, flute, violin, 'cello and viola being requisitioned. Miss Dorothy Grace (soprano) and Miss Rex Fitzgerald (contralto) both delighted the audience with their rendering of many popular ballads, the encores being frequent. Madame Kennedy accompanied throughout the performance. The Kennedvs give their final concerts at Her Majesty’s, Auckland, next week.
