Tennis.

The Huntly Tennis Club, which has appeared to be moribund for some time past, is now apparently waking up, as we are informed that they have accepted a challenge from the Buckland Club to play a match at Huntly to-morrow. The lack of interest in the game has given local, enthusiasts some anxiety recently, andit is to be hoped that the apparent awakening which has now taken place will not pass again into sleep. Owing to the lack of interest, and possibly other causes, very little practice hau been indulged in lately, and with two or three of the most prominent players away.it would not be surprising if Huntly suffered defeat. However, we look to the chosen players to do their best and trust that they may be successful.

Tennis is a cTsati healthy game, which can be indulged in by both sexes, and is of such a nature that tiie maximum good can be obtained without undue exertion, while it it is not so strenuous as to prevent friendly intercourse while the games are going on. Fur these reasons, it is claimed by some to be the king of games, and though this may be too high praise,., yet it has very much indeed to recommend it, and it is to bo hoped that a revival will now take place, and that Huntly will once more return to its former position, that of one of the first teams in the Waikato.
