MINERS’ HALL. A powerful and interesting star feature entitled “ The Debt ” will be screened by the Lyceum management this evening. The plot centres round a girl’s stage experiences which will hold the attention of the audience from start to finish. Six extra special subjects support the star amongst which is an interesting number of the Australian Gazette also the "Blue Coyotte Cherry Crop,” an interesting mining drama, whilst the inevitable Keystone Comedy entitled “ The Baggage Smasher ” tops a very popular programme which will satisfy the most experienced. On Saturday Mr Calder will have much pleasure in presenting to his audience that famous picture, “Tess of the Storm Country" featuring Miss Mary Picktord who is considered the Ellen Terry of the picture screen, rhis beautiful drama which captivated Auckland audiences for two weeks is 6000 ft long and is well supported by other choice subjects. It is said that no poet however subtle in sympathy and toucli ever created a more affecting situation than that portrayed in this drama of the young life of Tess. The ladies especially should see this emotional masterpiece of Mary Pickford’s as it is considered by many to be h r best effort. This programme will be repeated again on Monday night to enable patrons to see it who cannot attend on Saturday. Book reserves at McNee’s as usual.
