Opening of the Football Season.

The football season will open in Huntly to-morrow, when the local Soccer Team will try conclusions with another local team under the name of the “ Lancashire Boys.” Each of the teams picked is a strong one, and it is confidently hoped that a fast and interesting game will he played. The Auckland Reps will shortly visit Huntly to try conconclusions with the local boys in a match, the proceeds of which will be devoted to the Huntly Mines Disaster Relief Fund, and the Huntly team intend to keep in hard practice until the match, so that they may be enabled to give a good account of themselves.

The teams for to-morrow are as follows : LANCASHIRE BOYS’ Goal: H. Farrimond, Full Backs; J. Roberts and J. Chapman. Half Backs : J. Ashcroft, W. Hampson and S. Fisher. Forwards: T. Winstanly, M. Hayes, J. Dean, E- Partington, and G. Dennet (captain). HUNTLY FOOTBALL CLUB. Goal : R. Steele. Full Backs : W. Timms (captain), J. Wallace. Half Backs : J. Lindsey, G. Gilbert, and A. Yeung.
