Obituary.

It is with extreme regret that we record the death of our fellow townsman, Mr W. H. Gribble, who passed away at his residence, Huntly South, on Monday last. Mr Gribble was a and highly respected inhabßant of the Huntly Town District, having come last from Thames, where he resided in the palmy of the gold mining boom. Coming here in the early, days Mr Gribble passed a quiet and uneventful life, until a few years ago, when he developed a painful and dangerous internal complaint, from which he suffered up to the day of his death, with a few intervals of ease. Some months ago, Mr Gribble went to the Hamilton Hospital to be treated, but it -was soon seen that his case was hopeless, and he returned home, and after a few months of pain, he passed away as above.

The interment took place at Kimihia Cemetery on Wednesday last, -when a good number of friends assembled to pay the last tribute to deceased. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. M. Evans, who came specially to Huntly for the purpose. Deceased leaves a wife ai d grown up family of three daughters to mourn his loss, and to them goes out the deep sympathy of a host of friends.
