MINERS’ HALL. Devotees of the silent drama will enjoy pictorial treats of the highest order and variety this week end and the management have spared no expense in presenting the latest of everything. A big programme will be screened to-night the star feature being “The Weakling” in which Miss Alice Joyce the prettiest cinema actress sustains the leading part. Maurice Costello also appears in the “ Sentimental Burglar where he fulfils his reputation. A special keystone entitled “ A Coats Tale ” will be very popular while the latest war news will be shown in the topical Budget. A unique caricature film will also be shown entitled “ Wireless from the War’ Other good subjects make up an entertaining selection of films. For this Saturday a special variety programme lias been arranged for by Mr Calder and picture lovers should not on any account miss it. The Star film is “ The Shattered Tree ” being one of those sweet plots of the cultured East and manly West. At extra expense three special Keystone Comedies are being shown viz '' The Sky Pirate ” “ The Riot ” and “ He Would a Hunting Go,” both of which will cause patrons the greatest merriment. The latest war news will be shown in the Gaumont Graphic while the balance of the programme is made up of the finest selection ever screened including “Pickles Art and SauerKrant a 2000 ft Vitagrapli Comedy. During the evening Mr B. Manning who was so much appreciated last week will sing
“ The Wreck. ” Patrons are advised to book reserves at McNees to avoid disappointment.
