The nominations for the Sports which will be held on Saturday, 28th inst, are exceptionally large, and, given good weather, an excellent day’s sport may be anticipated. The following will give an idea of the number of entries received for eactievent : Maiden Handicap ... 13 Half-mile ■■ ... 18 Mine Employees’ ... 5 Sheffield Handicap ... 22 100 Yards, open ... 21 Mile Handicap ... 8 200 Yards Handicap ... 17 440 Yards Handicap ... 17 Trademan’s Handicap ... 33 75 Yards Handicap ... 18 The following additional subscriptions have been received in connection with the Huntly Sports : —Mr C. Maxwell, £2 2s ; Mr F. Harris, £1 Is ; Mr W. H. Bailey, £1 Is; Mr H. Abbot, £1 Is ; Mr F. Friendship, 10s 6d. As the amount previously acknowledged was £3O 11s, the total to date amounts to £36 6s 6d.
