RUAWARO. (Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Huntly West Branch of the Fanners’ Union was held in the Pukenui on February 27th, at 8 p.m.,4 when the following were present: —Messrs E. Sefton Ik (chairman), A. Caley (secretary), 'T T. Sefton, J. Brown, C. Alder, R. Alder, R, McEwen, F. Capstick, J. Whitehead, W. Smith, A. Smith. F. Leek, W. C. Broughton, J. Comins, junr., J. Furniss, J. H. Furniss, G. Phyn, J. Rasmussen and P. Caley. The secretary was as red to write to the Raglan County Council about the following : For them to guarantee £6 per year for five years subsidy, on which condition the Government will erect|a telephone to the Rotongaro Post Office. Pointing out to them the bad state of the road between Rotongaro and Ruawaro and asking them to attend to it before the bad weather sets in, also to metal the road over the swamp near Waikato's Hill. To check the speed of motorcars, there having been a good deal of excesssive driving of late. Mr Caley was also asked to write to the Commissioner for Crown Lands, requesting him to open the cemetery at the corner of Ruawaro and Waikokowai roads.

A deputation consisting of Messrs W. C. Broughton, A. Jamieson and P. Caley, were to wait on the Huntly Town Board to discuss the question of erecting stook sale yards at Huntly West.
