Smoke Concert.

A very pleasant function took place on Thursday evening last, in the tea rooms of MrG. Edwards, when Mr W. Patterson, who has been connected with the Huntly Orchestra since its inauguration was the guest of the evening. There was a large number of friends present to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure to join the Expeditiontary Force at Trentham. Messrs J. P. Bailey and L. B. Harris, jun., gave short addresses, wishing Mr Patterson God speed, and a safe return, D.V, Mr Patterson suitably responded. After which songs by the following gentlemen were rendered : —Messrs J. P. Bailey, B. Parker, J. Wesley, J. Aspey, S. Broadbent, Haughton, musical selections by the orchestra, a chorus by the newly formed Huntly Minstrel Troupe, bringing a very pleasant evening to a close.
