Te Hoe.

SMOKE CONCERT. A very pleasing function was held in the Te Hoe Public Hall on Saturday 16th inst. when the many friends of Mr . Robin .lones gathered to express their good Wishes to him on the eve of his marriage. Mr F. W. W. Hubbard presided and there was a splendid attendance. Mr Hubbard, in a neat speech, expressed the high esteem in which Mr Jones was held by all who knew him, and, in asking hint to accept a handsome set of carvers as a small token of the regard that was felt for him. he wished Mr Jones a long, happy Sind prosperous married life. After others had testified to the high estimation in which Mr Jones was held, the guest very feelingly responded, thanking those present for the hearty good feeling shown towards him. During the evening a number of songs and recitations were most acceptably rendered, the gathering being in every way most successful.
