" HUNTLY BRANCH. A meeting of the Huntly Branch of the Sunday School Union was held in the Methodist School Room on Tuesday evening last There was a very . good attendance of teachers, and a profitable evening was spent. The president intimated that he had arranged for the paddock for the Annual Combined Picnic, which is to he held on Frobruary the 13th., in Mr L. B. H iri is's Paddack and also for the right to cross one of Mr Harris's paddocks in getting ui She picnicground. Mrs M'arstqn had also kindly offered to boil water for the tea required, and to help in any way possible. Reports of the collection for the picnic showed that the reponse was satisfactory and that there need be no anxiety with regard to tire finances. Other matters were reported to be in a forward state, and, given fine weather, there is evidence that the picnic will be as successful as usual. It was arranged that a final business meeting be bald on Tuesday the 9th Februa-y to make final arrangements. .The President gave a short address on " Some Causes of Failure in Sunday School Teaching.” An animated and instructive discussion followed, the experience and opinions of various teachers being freely given. One of the brightest and most helpful meetings was brought to a close at 9 p.m. rather later than usual.
