ADDITIONAL SUBSCRIPTIONS. Subscriptions to the above fund are still coming in, the total now having reached £ It is known that several amounts have yet to come, and the Secretary believes he has reason to hope that the Huntly fund will yet reach £7OOO, if not £BOOO. An offer from the Central Committee, to hand over to the Huntly Committee the sum of £2OOO received by them, was discussed at a meeting of the Huntly Mines Disaster Relief Committee on Wednesday the 2nd inst. The The only condition attached to the offer was, that there should be added to the Huntly Committee the names of the local Relief Committee which had been acting on behalf of the Wellington Committee be accepted on condition that it be understood that the joint Committee will immediately proceed to put matters in train for handing the whole amount over to the Public trustee under a Deed of Trust to be agreed upon by the Committee, ■Hid that the present basis of payment be continued .unlil sucli time as the Public Trustee control.”
