The church, especially behind and around the singers’ gallery, was tastefullydecorated with flowers and flags, the flags being lent for the occasion. In Huntly we had experienced a great sorrow through the recent disaster, and we could never forget the kindness and sympathy expressed by- the people of New Zealand toward ourselves. The musical items were of a moral and religious character, and in keeping with the treditions of the church. Selections were given by Mesdames Sissons, Kilbnrii, Crowder, G. Shaw and Shand; Misses Stevenson and Brownlie ; Messrs. Stevenson, G. Shaw, W. Shaw, Mathews and Devine. Mrs. Richards gave lid address on “ Suffering and Sacrifice, ” and the Rev. J. Richards a reading entitled ‘Gods Own Woman,” All the items rendered were highly appreciated by the audience. Mrs Stephenson and Miss Starr played the accompaniments, and Mr Darby the violin. A hearty vote of thanks to all who had taken part, and the singing of ‘ God save the King ” brought a pleasant and profitable evening to a close,
