w - *■•- Probably the largest and most enthusiastic political meeting ever held in Pokeno was addressed in the Pokeno Hall by ; Mr W. D. Thompson on Wednesday^November 18th- Mr Lippiatt was’ voted to the chair. When the candidate rose to speak he was greeted with cheers, and received an attentive hearing throughout hi? address which lasted about an hour and a-half. A good number of questions were asked. A hearty vote of thanks and confidence in the candidate, coupled with an expression of confidence in Sir Sir Joseph Ward, was carried almost unanimously. kFhe meeting broke up with three cheers for Sir Joseph Ward. Mr Thompson dressed a well attended meeting at Ngaruawahia on Monday last receiving a vote of thanks and confidence.
