TAUPIRI. The Taupiri Rowing Clul held their opening day on Oc tober 31st., when mixed four; were rowed for trophies pre sented by Mr S. Keogh, Vice President. There was a goor attendance of the public, but, unfortunately, only three crews competed. The final was woi by R. Fowler (stroke), M. Lynch 3 ; H. Bailey, 2 ; and R. Keogh (bow). It is the intention of tin clul) to send a crew to Ngarua wahia to compete for the Glial ienge Cup to be rowed on Oc tober 181 li. Tlie Taupiri Quarry is , now ii full swing and the work of mettailing the Orini Road is pro ceeding apace Our tennis players spent £ very pleasant day at tlie open ingof the Orini Club’s courts Taupiri was well representer and the members speak highly o the hospitality extended by tin Orini players.
