H. Hinchcowas taken to the Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. F. Littleproud spent part of the week in the city. Mr Boyd Bennie, Government Inspector of Mines, was in Bluntly yesterday. Mr E. H. Taylor, Opposition candidate for the Thames, was in the town last Monday. Sergeant - Detective Cooney after spending a night in Huntly left by Tuesday’s express for his Head-quarters. Mr T. Starr leaves at the beginning of next week for Rotorua where he has accepted a position with an engineering firm. Mrs H. N. Nicholson, who underwent an operation in the Hospital some three p- weeks ago is making as rapid k progress towards convalescence w as can be expected. Mr John Bollard, M.P., the father of the member for Raglan, and tlie senior North Island member of the House of Representatives, who is about to retire from active political life after eighteen years’ continuous service as member for the Eden electorate, was presented by the members of his party with a handsomely framed enlarged, group of the Reform Party The presentation was made by the Premier who spoke in eulogistic terms of the services rendered to the Dominion by the member for Eden, and who trusted that Mr and Mrs Bollard would have many years of happiness and prosperity before them. Mr Bollard feelingly and suitably acknowledged the presentation.
