KING’S HALL. FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND MONDAY. Another brilliant series of photoplays, absolutely new to New Zealand, have been secured by Mr Briton for the end of this, and the beginning of next week. The “ constellation” i for Friday night is the sensational drama, “ The Forgotten Melody.” Tony Vido, a musician, disheartened by failure to have his opera produced, goes West, and in an Indian attack is wounded. Tho arrival of the soldiers cause the Indians to fly, but not before the musician has been wounded and his wife killed. Annette, the daughter i is saved, and with the ire .a 1 the opera in her possession, goes to live with her adopted father, a mint r. while Tony, distracted, and half demented by grief, wanders about as a street musician. Annette arranges to have the opera produced, but some bars are missing, and remain so until the opportune arrival of the composer whose reunion with his long lost daughter is most touching. Supporting this are the dramas, “ Ticket to Red Horse Gulch,” “ For the Sins of Another,” and “The Little Substitute the comedies, “ Cartoon’s Mr Piffle,” “ More than he Bargained for,” and “ Tango Flats and the scenic “ Hydraulic Works on the Adda,” For Saturday, “Jack the Wolf ” holds the chief place, while on Monday the Nordisk film (4000 ft), “ Theresa, the Adventuress,” will be screened. On both evenings the supporting pictures are as good as can be procured, while their projection cannot be excelled, and leaves nothing to be desired. All the pictures shown characterise the motto adopted by the management —“Latest, Brightest, Best.”
