MINERS’ HALL, TO-NIGHT. The management have secured a very fine premier picture for this evening entitled “Sweet Nell of Old Drury. ” This is one of the fine old plays of the time of King Charles of England and'is very characteristic of that period The title role is ably sustained by Miss Nellie Stewart, as Nell Gwynne, a character of which she is one of the leading exponents, not only in Australasia but in the larger world centres,and the highest ecomiums have been passsd on her interpretation of this most versatile character. It is a wonderful play and picture lovers should not miss seeing it, as it will only be shown one night. This film is over 4000 feet long. A varied selection of choice subjects supports the star, amongst them being that famous majestic comedy, “ One Round O’Brien Comes East ” which will undoubtedly create roars of laughter. Scenic, dramatic and topical films, complete a most enhancing programme. A big house is anticipated. A grand change will be screened on Saturday, when the star feature will be “The Fatal Legacy. ” This powerful drama shows how the craving for strong drink runs through six generations by heredity. Two topical gazettes are included in this varied programme viz. Topical Budget and the latest* Pathe No, 269. showing the latest European news. A number of fine comedies are included amongst them being “ Playmates ” and “ A Sleepy Romance” Patrons can rely on a very pleasant evening and a full house is of course well merited'by such good fare.
