Grand Picture Concert.

HUNTLY DISASTER RELIEF FUND. The Lyceum Picture Co. an j nounce they have completed all j the arrangements for the grand j Benefit Concert to be held in the j Miners’ Hall next Tuesday, 6th October. The following ladies and gentle- j men have kindly offered to assist j Mr. Calder in this laudable entertainment by contributing solos, : duets, vaudeville and fancy dancing, thus lending a pleasing and enticing form of variety to the whole performance. Mrs Deed (Contralto) will sing “Sunshine i and Rain; 5 ’ while Messrs.; Norman and Williams will be heard to advantage in the duets, “Excelsior” and "The Moon hath Raised her Lamp Above. Mr F. Knapper has alo consented to sing “The Miner Brave,” a very sympathetic number. The Huntly Pierrots, under the capable control of Mr Jack Budge, will contribute character song and dance items, which will be fully appreciated. Interspersed with the above vocal items, a superior collection of dramatic, scenic and comedy pictures will be screened, the star feature being “Widow Maloney’s Faith” a beautiful Irish play. Mr W. Darby*has kindly arranged for an augmented orchestra consisting of four instruments, which will leave nothing to be desired. The Huntly Brass Band have also siginified fheir intention of playing outside the hall from 7. 30 till 8 p.m. on that evening when appropriate music will be rendered. Mr Budge has consented to act as honorary stage manager. The prices for this performance are stalls Is, dress i circle Is 6d and children half price. The gross proceeds will be devoted to the temporary relief of necessitous cases, caused by the recent deplorable mining disaster. All tickets which were sold for the cancelled Patriotic concert will be honoured at this entertainment. A large audience is practially assured and the efforts of those responsible are to be highly commended to the public of Huntly. Seats for the Dress Circle may be* reserved at the Press Office usual booking fee.
