MINERS’ HALL, TO-NIGHT. Programmes of sterling merit that grip and hold will be presented to patrons at the above hall this week end. The star feature to-night is a heart touching story of passion and power, entitled “ The Curse of the Golden Land, and deals with life in Russia and America. It is full of humanity and is stirringly emotional. A fine historical drama, “ Sardanapolus, King of Assyria’ supports the star, whilst the balance of the subjects include comic, scenic, topical and dramatic studies. A film of late strike scenes in Wellington will be interesting, while “ Mother’s Boy,” a 1,090 ft. Keystone comedy will be welcomed by all. Parons trons can safely put in a comfortable couple ofjhours viewing this programme, which will be found a reasonable recreation for the mind. A grand change is to be screened on Saturday, when the fine Western drama, 11 The Sham Sheriff" will be shown. It is a great heart story of the wild West, and is one of A.K.’s. best productions. It is a tale of the land where men are men, who think and feel for others. A superior collection of topical, dramatic, and comic subjects are included, while tile very latest Pathe Gazette, No. 266, which is always looked for every Saturday, will be shown and depicts recent happenings in Europe.
