Grand Patriotic Picture Concert.

MINERS’ HALL. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH A fine opportunity will again be given every resident of Huntly to help in a modest way to swell the fund which is now being raised by the Patriotic Committee,, by patronising the fine picture concert to be given by Messrs. Coady and Calder, of the Lyceum Pictures who have kindly placed their services at the disposal of the committee. The committee of the Miners’ Hall have also kindly granted the use of the hall for the above purpose. The fine programme of pictures to be screened, will include a special film of the Navy, and in addition to the pictorial section of the entertainment, the following ladies and gentlemen have kindly volunteered to assist: —Mrs. Deed, (contralto) will sing, ‘'The Old Countree ; ” Mr J. Devine, (Baritone), ” The Admirals * Broom ; ” Mr George Williams, (the Welsh Baritone), will sing, “ The Veteran, ” while the Huntly Pierrots managed by Miss Scells and Mr Budge will entertain with their patriotic numbers and fascinating dances. An augmented orchestra consisting of two violins, piano and cornet will be under the able direction of Mr VV. Darby. The Huntly Brass Band, under the capable control of Bandmaster Wentworth, has also kindly volunteered to play patriotic selections in front of the L a ll from 7 30. till B'p.m. As 'the cause is a very worthy one it is to be hoped that all will hel p to the best of their ability. The whole proceeds will go to the Patriotic Fund. Seats may be reserved at the HUNTLY* PRESS.
