Huntly Town Board.

The usual monthly meeting of the Huntly Town Bo: rd was held on Thursday night when there were present Messrs. J. P. Bailey (chairman), R. Greenwell, Jas. Elliot, and the clerk, Mr F. Harris. The minutes of the previous meeting and the outward correspondence having been approved as read, the chairman' introduced Mr Fenn, the recently appointed electrical engineer, to the members. , The chairman explained, that owing to tire present; -crisis thePublic’ Trustee was no longer in a position to lend the £6OOO necessary for the electric lighting scheme, and, consequently, it must be reluctantly abandoned for the time. The Board had appointed Mr Fenn to the position of consulting engineer, and had no intention of revoking the appointment which would hold good until tlie electric lighting scheme had been completed. Tile scheme was discussed generally, Mr Fenn being empowered to inspect the generating -et offered for sale by Mr Wyllie on behalf of lire Auckland City council, and to report on the same with a view to purchase by the Board when tire scheme was being carried out.
