Huntly-Awaroa Railway.
EXTENSION TO BURNT BRIDGE. With characteristic courtesy Mr R. F. Bollard, M.P., wires to the effect that the Prime Minister has informed him that it is the intention of the M ; nister of Public Works to include in his authorisation bill the extension of the Huntly-Awraroa railway to B isley’s corner, otherwise known as the Burnt Bridge. Though the extension is one of only two miles and a half, its importance to Huntly cannot be over estimated, seeing that it will tap a large area of rich agricultural, pastoral, and timber country, rich in coal, iron-stone, lime-stone and other minerals. By opening up the laud, tho extension will in luce an amount of settlement, and greatly increase the importance of the mining town as a trading centre. That being so it is only fair that the town should furnish such facilities, in the way of saleyards, etc., as'will-meet the increased requirements of prospective settlement.
