Presentation and Social.

On Friday last the Presbyterian Sunday School held a social in the Masonic Hall, for the purpose of making Mr and Mrs John Kinson a present on the occasion of their marriage. The scholars presented Mr Kinson with a beautiful Dressing Case and Mrs K nson with a silver sugar basin. The evening was spent in games etc and the following items were rendered by the scholars. Recitation, The Battle of Blenheim,” Miss L. Reid; Duet, “ The World looks very beautiful,” Masters Allan and Gavin ; recitation, “ My Journey, ” Miss L. Brocklebank ; Duet, “Gently" a Voice,” Miss P. Rothwell and Miss E. Gavin ; recitation, “Waiting their Opportunity, ” Miss L. Beveridge ; Song, “ Will the Angles let me play ?” Miss V. Russell; recitation, “ The Broken Bowl,” Mr Gibson; action song, “ Snowflake, Miss Jeanie Gavin. During the evening supper was served to the parents and scholars, and short addresses were given by the Rev Mr Richards and Mr Shaw. At the close of the social the scholars gave three hearty cheers for Mr and Mrs Kinson, and a pleasent evening was brought to a close by singing the Doxology.
