Correspondence.
While it is our endeavour to give correspondents every facility for the free expression of their opinion, it should be borne in mind that the views expressed do not, necessarily, reflect the op* cions of the Editor. TO THE EDITOR. S;r. —Visiters and new-comers to Huntly have frequently been heard to comment upon the lack of enthusiasm displayed by our young men of Huntiy in matters of sport. Whilst I cannot but feel that such comments have been to a large extent justified X must point out that in one branch of sport at any rate, Huntly has held its own.iThe achievements of our local Association players during the last and previous years must surely evoke admiration from those who take an interest in the game. The Club at present holds the senior cup as the laurels of last year’s campaign in which the best blood of the Waikato and King Country districts was found to cry “ beaten ” to Huntly’s eleven, while the Club has more than held its own against Auckland senior teams. In this game, at least, our enthuslsam in the past has not been found wanting. The present year’s prospects, however, have been rendered less hopeful, owing to the large number of old players who during the recent months have left the township. To keep the game going we require a few new players, and if they are forthcoming supporters of the game may be assured that it will take a very good team to remove the eup'from its present destination. Thanking you in anticipation, I am, etc. E. MA.RSTON.
